• Seal or insignia is used for the black shading of the bear, the twelve dull tufts in the design of grass, the boundary of the design and the caption "CALIFORNIA REPUBLIC".
• Old Glory Red is used for a single star, the bear's tongue and the red bar at the base of the flag of California.
• Irish Green is used for the grass design.
• The bear's fingernail are also highlighted with white. The left front and last claw have 4 white fingernails while the right rear paw displays 3 fingernails. The front right claw does not consist any highlighting.
